Frequently Asked Questions

& Important Information

  • I work in the “Cedar Mill” district of Portland, Oregon. Please search this area on Google Maps if you have any travel concerns. I send out my address the day before your appointment.

If you want to plan a trip from out of state or far away to get tattooed by me:
Please submit a message at the bottom of this page or send me an email as soon as you begin planning so we can discuss dates. The sooner the better! You should also submit a booking form at this time.

If I announced a travel guest-spot in your city:
Please submit a booking form as soon as possible. To ensure I prioritize your booking form, you can also send a message at the bottom of this page. Make sure to include the city and dates you're inquiring about!
*Some of my policies for guest-spot opportunities will differ from the standard policies listed here on my website. For example my pricing, location, set working hours, etc. This is especially true when I'm working out-of-state or outside of the U.S. Please message me if you have an specific questions.

  • I tattoo Wednesday through Saturday
    10 AM to 5 PM.

I schedule 1-2 months in advance. After you submit a booking form I will email you a link to my calendar where you can view all my available appointment dates.

Scheduling disclaimer - I rely on you to make time for your appointment during my regular business hours. I try my best to accommodate everyone, but I have limited weekend spots each month and they fill up quickly! Unfortunately I can’t guarantee you a weekend appointment.

  • Pricing:
I charge $185 per hour. I round your time to the closest 15 minute mark. Time spent chatting upon arrival and any breaks in-between will not be counted towards your time.
During freehand projects I don’t charge for drawing time.

    Minimum price:
My minimum price for any appointment taking 1 hour or less is $185.
*Hand and finger tattoos have a higher minimum rate of $200 so that I can offer you a free touchup (please see my touch up policy)

    Deposits:
Deposits are required before scheduling an appointment. My standard deposit is $100. For tattoos quoted $740 or more, a deposit of $200 is required. Deposits can only be paid electronically through my online calendar, so a small transaction fee will apply.
*Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits can be moved over twice if you must reschedule your appointment but will need to be paid again if you reschedule without giving at least 48 hours notice or request to reschedule a 3rd time. Please be sure of the commitment you're making before paying a deposit.

    Payment options:
Square - Square allows you to easily pay with debit, credit, or Apple Pay. I assume that most people will use this option. If you choose to pay with Square you will be charged an automatic 3.5% transaction fee for the ease of paying cashless.
Cash discount - Cash is welcome, and if you arrive prepared to your appointment with cash you will avoid paying the extra 3.5% transaction fee attached to square payments. We do not have an atm on site so you will need to get cash beforehand.

    I do not accept Venmo.

  • I offer free touchups on all tattoos within 3 months of your initial appointment. Tattoos can be touched up anytime after that at my minimum hourly rate.

The majority of hand and finger tattoos will need a touchup, and most tattooers don’t offer free touchups for these. I have a higher minimum rate for these projects, so please take advantage of my free touchup policy.

*Please email me roughly 3-5 weeks after your initial appointment if you would like a touchup. This ensures enough time in advance to schedule within the 3 month touchup window.

  • How do I book an appointment?
Please read through my whole F.A.Q. & Important Information page, than submit a booking form.

What should I wear to my appointment?
I have a blog post right here with clothing suggestions based on your tattoo placement!

How can I prepare for my appointment?
I have a blog post right here if you need some tips on how to prepare for your tattoo appointment.

Can I request a silent appointment?
My appointments are somewhat silent by nature! I typically chat a bit at the beginning of each appointment. I can be really chatty though, so once I begin tattooing I wear headphones which allows me to focus deeper on my work. I highly recommend bringing bluetooth headphones. You can even watch a movie or TV show on my iPad if you’d like.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
I prefer no extra guests at appointments. I find guests can distract me and make appointments longer which is more expensive for my clients and more inefficient for my work flow. If you have some circumstance where you need to bring someone with you please email me in advance!

Do you send out designs in advance?
I don’t send sketches or designs prior to your appointment. Please treat your booking form like a consultation. Include reference photos and descriptive details so I have the clearest visual of your tattoo idea. If you have a specific vision for your tattoo or specific details you want me to draw, please mention them on your booking form. If you forget to mention something important on your booking form, you can email it to me. On the day of your appointment we’ll have time to go over your design and make some adjustments as needed.

Are you looking to hire an apprentice?
Not at this time. If you're seeking advice surrounding tattooing or owning a business you can feel free to send me a message at the bottom of this page. It would be helpful for me if you number or bullet your questions like a list!

    What don't you tattoo?

    • Overcomplicated designs with too many points of interest listed. I prefer to keep things simple. However some exceptions to this include large scale, multi-session, and sleeve projects where there is more room for detail.

    • Heavy saturated black work

    • Extra bold or thick linework

    • Color (My shopmate Kelly tattoos in color, click here to see some of her work)

    • I don’t usually do cover-ups, my style isn’t great for covering up anything too dark. However I do re-work tattoos often. This is when I add changes, extra detailing, or fix linework done by other artists. You are welcome to submit a booking form with photos of your old tattoo and I will let you know if it’s something I can work with.
